As常用再一些固定搭配中,比如define…as…,view…as…, see…as…, use…as…, regard…as…, envision…as.., think of…as…, refer to…as…, classify…as…

I shall define him as an individual who has elected as his primary duty and pleasure in life the activity of thinking in Socratic way about moral problems.

和elected as.

第二,as有时单独作用,译为“作为”,例如常用的as a student,as a leader of the department等。

While there are almost as many definitions of history as there are historians, modern practice most closely conforms to one that sees history as the attempt to recreate and explain the significant events of the past.

As the sun rises from the foothill of Mountain Song, thousands of marital artists are kicking, punching and spinning their swords and spears in union at the open parade ground.

We are obliged to them because some of these languages have since vanished, as the peoples who spoke them died out or became assimilated and lost their native language.

在该句中存在两个原因状语从句,一个是由because引导,另一个则是as引导,解释some of these languages have since vanished的原因。

I hope all the precautions against air pollution, as suggested by the local government, will be seriously considered there.

Simple as it is, what the picture conveys to us is thought-provoking.
